As part of the agreement, which was reached in May, there will be a €1,000 salary increase in 2015 for those earning less than €65,000. Members of the Civil and Public Services Union (CPSU) are becoming increasingly vocal about their disappointment over the terms of working hours and money, whilst the Association of Higher Civil and Public Servants (AHCPS) announced it will be recommending its members to vote No in an upcoming ballot. The 23-member standing committee of the secondary school teachers’ union ASTI urged the organisation’s executive to recommend rejection.
