Almost one year after the introduction of the legal minimum wage, there are no substantially negative effects signalled. Moreover, the direct employment registered in the social security system has increased, especially in the sectors that traditionally work with low-paid labour. For instance, in the hospitality sector the registered workforce increased with 6.5% (in one year). The statistics show a decrease of the so-called ‘mini-jobs’.
