The national wage agreement was initially concluded in October 2013 for two years and has now been extended for a third. Together with a cut in income tax for low and middle income earners, the wage pact is meant to maintain the purchasing power of workers. Two unions did not sign the agreement, transport workers’ union AKT and the Finnish seafarers’ union.
