The figures are based on full-time earnings from the Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings (ASHE). It is shown that that between 2000 (when the data were first collected) and 2013 the pay gap between the top 10% and the bottom 10% of earners in London rose by 14%. This is far higher than the national average rise in the pay gap of 5% over the same period.
