In the period 2000-2006 the average retirement age for employees was 61 years. Since 2007, the average retirement age has risen annually due to the introduction in 2006 of legislation changes aimed at encouraging people to work longer. As a result, the proportion of people going into retirement prior to their 60th birthday declined from 28% in 2006 to 6% in 2013.
