Peterson’s comments follow shortly after his predecessor criticised the weak state of unionism in Estonia, saying people must understand it’s not enough to just pay membership fees and workers must want to fight to improve their working conditions. Peterson, on the contrary, stated the union needs less confrontation and more cooperation.
