After five rounds of negotiations the trade unions PRO-GE and GPA-djp concluded an agreement with the employers’ organisation FMMI that does not link the wage increase with further flexibilisation of the working time (an employer demand). The lowest pay scales will increase as from 1 November 2013 with 3.2%, the higher with 2.5%. The new minimum wage in the agreement is €1,688.71. It was agreed to have separate talks about a new working time agreement, to be finalised before next summer.

English: http://www.industriall-union.org/austrian-metalworkers-reach-285-per-cent-wage-increase

German: http://www.oegb.at/servlet/Content ...

http://www.fmmi.at/presse-aktuelles/presseaussendungen ...

For more information, please contact the editor Jan Cremers, Amsterdam Institute for Advanced Labour Studies (AIAS) cbn-aias@uva.nl or the communications officer at the ETUI, Mariya Nikolova mnikolova@etui.org.
