After Canada announced it is recruiting hundreds of Portuguese for construction work in Toronto, the union was flooded with enquiries from members about the procedure. 22% of the 700.000 construction workers in Portugal are currently unemployed. A union representative explains the union is getting involved in order to avoid illegal practices.
