In the end of February, an agreement with the\r\nMedical Association of Malta, representing doctors, to add beds to hospital\r\nwards to accommodate the increased number of patients requiring intensive care\r\nwas overturned by an agreement with the nurses and midwives association MUMN,\r\nwho protested that nurses were already overworked. MUMN has also drawn\r\nattention to the understaffing among nurses in operating theatres, whose\r\nnumbers have not increased despite a 10% increase in operations
