The unions have rejected the offer, claiming it does not address abuse of current uncertified leave possibilities and, instead, will harm employees suffering from chronic or long-term illnesses. The unions furthermore argued that take-up of uncertified sick leave in all official reports is very low and employers have no proof of the contrary.
