Union leaders said they wanted to give more time for the government to meet their demands for a suspension of pension reforms. The trade unions are waiting for signals of a more conciliatory tone and willingness to make concessions from the government of Prime Minister Petr Nečas by June 4. ČMKOS chairman Jaroslav Zavadil said meetings in September and October might decide on whether a nationwide general strike should be called.
