Various trade unions, like VPÖD-SSP and UNIA, played\r\na leading role among the more than 45 organisations that held the event. The complaint\r\nwas repeated that in Switzerland women earn on average 19.8% less than men while\r\nperforming the same job, despite\r\nthe gender equality article in the Constitution. The\r\nactions featured breakfasts, numerous workplace events and protests at public\r\nsites in major cities, culminating in collective whistle blowing and the\r\nrelease of thousands of purple balloons around the country at 14:06.
