Within the framework of statutory annual collective bargaining, Carrefour has offered a 1% wage increase in salaries this month and a second 1% rise in October 2011. The French retailer, world’s second largest, has invited unions to sign a draft agreement on its proposals by 31 March but they have already made it clear that it falls well short of their demands.
