From Living Wage to Living Pension A Framework for Measuring Retirement Affordability

Every year, more of the world's population crosses into retirement, and lives longer once they get there. Discover the thought process behind the development of the concept of Living Pension from the concept of Living Wage. From ' How much income do I need to live decently?' to ' How much income does a retired person need to live with dignity?'. As there is no global benchmark, we created one and presented it at the 11th ILERA (International Labour and Employment Relations Association) Asian Regional Congress 2026 in Tokyo, Japan (3-5 September).
