Monster Salary Index

A salary benchmarking index for India that lets jobseekers and employers compare pay across industries, occupations and experience levels.

Project Description

The Monster Salary Index was launched in April 2013 by Monster India, one of India's leading online recruitment platforms, together with Paycheck.in, WageIndicator's national website for India. IIM Ahmedabad, which hosts Paycheck India, was the research partner. The index was built on the WageIndicator online Salary Survey, which Paycheck.in and IIM-A had run in India since 2005. Integrating it into Monster India gave the survey much wider reach and a larger flow of salary data.

Objectives

The Monster Salary Index aimed to bring more transparency to India's labour market by putting reliable salary data in the hands of jobseekers and employers.

Role WageIndicator

WageIndicator owned the Salary Index concept and formula. It ran the underlying online Salary Survey through Paycheck.in, supplied the dataset, and co-authored the sector reports through Paycheck India and CELSI.
