Other than the aggregate data provided by national statistical offices\r\nand international public sources, the Wage Indicator data allows for a\r\nbreakdown of labour market behaviour of working individuals in motivating\r\nand\u002For inhibiting factors.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp> \u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Individual´s\r\nmotives and possibilities to participate in the labour market may and do vary\r\nper occupation, industry, composition of the household, education, firm size\r\netc. Taking these variables into account researchers analyze that in most\r\ncountries child rearing is much more detrimental to women´s wages than to men´s\r\nwages, thereby contributing to the gender pay gap.
