More than 5,000 people voted and picked between their employers, their parents or themselves as the major funders of their education.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Employers score surprisingly low with eight percent of the votes, followed by investments by people themselves (41 percent) and their parents (38). Only nine percent said nobody was investing in their education.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\u003Cem>Employers \u003C\u002Fem>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Employers are doing relatively well in both the \u003Ca class=\"zem_slink freebase\u002Fguid\u002F9202a8c04000641f800000000003e30b\" href=\"http:\u002F\u002Fmaps.google.com\u002Fmaps?ll=51.5,-0.116666666667&amp;spn=10.0,10.0&amp;q=51.5,-0.116666666667%20(United%20Kingdom)&amp;t=h\" rel=\"geolocation\" title=\"United Kingdom\">\u003Cspan class=\"Apple-style-span\">\u003Cspan class=\"Apple-style-span\">UK\u003C\u002Fspan>\u003C\u002Fspan>\u003C\u002Fa> (19%) and the \u003Ca class=\"zem_slink freebase\u002Fguid\u002F9202a8c04000641f800000000002a602\" href=\"http:\u002F\u002Fmaps.google.com\u002Fmaps?ll=52.35,4.86666666667&amp;spn=10.0,10.0&amp;q=52.35,4.86666666667%20(Netherlands)&amp;t=h\" rel=\"geolocation\" title=\"Netherlands\">\u003Cspan class=\"Apple-style-span\">\u003Cspan class=\"Apple-style-span\">Netherlands\u003C\u002Fspan>\u003C\u002Fspan>\u003C\u002Fa> (9%). Those two countries have lifted up the total score quite a bit, since in most countries the participation of employers in education was zero or nearly zero. \u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>In both the UK and the Netherlands, employers do have a stronger tradition of supporting vocational training and other education, but the effect in the web poll was still rather disappointing. \u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\u003Cem>Parents \u003C\u002Fem>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Funding from parents was relatively important for most countries, scoring over 60 percent of the votes in \u003Ca class=\"zem_slink freebase\u002Fguid\u002F9202a8c04000641f800000000000987a\" href=\"http:\u002F\u002Fmaps.google.com\u002Fmaps?ll=53.9166666667,27.55&amp;spn=10.0,10.0&amp;q=53.9166666667,27.55%20(Belarus)&amp;t=h\" rel=\"geolocation\" title=\"Belarus\">\u003Cspan class=\"Apple-style-span\">\u003Cspan class=\"Apple-style-span\">Belarus\u003C\u002Fspan>\u003C\u002Fspan>\u003C\u002Fa> (61%), \u003Ca class=\"zem_slink freebase\u002Fguid\u002F9202a8c04000641f8000000000034e30\" href=\"http:\u002F\u002Fmaps.google.com\u002Fmaps?ll=40.4333333333,-3.7&amp;spn=10.0,10.0&amp;q=40.4333333333,-3.7%20(Spain)&amp;t=h\" rel=\"geolocation\" title=\"Spain\">\u003Cspan class=\"Apple-style-span\">\u003Cspan class=\"Apple-style-span\">Spain\u003C\u002Fspan>\u003C\u002Fspan>\u003C\u002Fa> (66%), the US (50%), \u003Ca class=\"zem_slink freebase\u002Fguid\u002F9202a8c04000641f800000000001de20\" href=\"http:\u002F\u002Fmaps.google.com\u002Fmaps?ll=28.5666666667,77.2&amp;spn=10.0,10.0&amp;q=28.5666666667,77.2%20(India)&amp;t=h\" rel=\"geolocation\" title=\"India\">\u003Cspan class=\"Apple-style-span\">\u003Cspan class=\"Apple-style-span\">India\u003C\u002Fspan>\u003C\u002Fspan>\u003C\u002Fa> (66%) and \u003Ca class=\"zem_slink freebase\u002Fguid\u002F9202a8c04000641f80000000000190bf\" href=\"http:\u002F\u002Fmaps.google.com\u002Fmaps?ll=14.6333333333,-90.5&amp;spn=10.0,10.0&amp;q=14.6333333333,-90.5%20(Guatemala)&amp;t=h\" rel=\"geolocation\" title=\"Guatemala\">\u003Cspan class=\"Apple-style-span\">\u003Cspan class=\"Apple-style-span\">Guatemala\u003C\u002Fspan>\u003C\u002Fspan>\u003C\u002Fa> (67%).
