Same Harvest, Different Wage - 2026
Wages, Wage Structures, and the Path Toward a Living Wage on Colombia, Ghana and Indonesia's Palm Oil Plantations
About the Session
Following the RSPO's Roundtable Conference on Sustainable Palm Oil in Jakarta (3-4 November), the International Palm Oil Workers United (IPOWU), WageIndicator and Mondiaal FNV will co-host an online seminar to discuss the findings of their latest research on paid wages, wage structures and the potential for Living Wages.
The theme of this year's conference, 'Strong Foundations: Impact in Action', highlights the importance of translating frameworks into practical actions. This involves safeguarding the rights of workers in the palm oil industry. Building on this, the online seminar will present the findings of recently published research into pay and working conditions on palm oil plantations in Colombia, Ghana and Indonesia, and show how this research can inform fairer negotiations and result in stronger labour protections.
