The debate surrounding the platform economy is becoming increasingly urgent. This year's International Labour Conference in Geneva will formally address the issue of 'decent work' within this sector.

The discussion around pay isn’t just empty talk: it directly affects how platform workers and freelancers are treated. Pay floors are, in fact, largely institutionalised for employees through Minimum Wages, collective bargaining, and Living Wage standards. However, these methods do not apply to self-employed workers. But every worker should be considered deserving of remuneration that meets their needs, regardless of their employment status or contract.
