Our mission

The non-profit WageIndicator Foundation's mission is to: Share & Compare. More labour market transparency for the benefit of all employers, employees and workers worldwide by sharing and comparing information on wages, Labour Law and career.

Disclaimer

The very concept of the WageIndicator requires the data needed for the calculation of salaries, living wages and factory pages to be volunteered – anonymously – by visitors to our sites and apps and well trained datacollectors.. Although the datasets are cleaned, scientifically checked and benchmarked, no responsibility can be taken for its being 100% accurate. The information and data displayed on WageIndicator websites is not necessarily comprehensive, complete, accurate or up to date at all times. Nor can the Foundation, or persons involved in developing and maintaining the sites, be held responsible for any actions, conclusions or advice based on the data or informational items published on the sites. WageIndicator websites are sometimes linked to external sites over which the WageIndicator Foundation has no control and for which it assumes no responsibility: the content of third-party sites referenced to or linked through the WageIndicator sites, is the sole responsibility of those parties. We take great care in developing and maintaining the WageIndicator sites and data. The information and data provided is general in nature only and not intended to address the specific circumstances of any particular individual or entity. Therefore, visitors to the WageIndicator websites can in no way derive any rights from this data. The concept consist of WageIndicator websites; WageIndicator Salary and workings conditions - Survey plus related Data set & Code book; Minimum Wages Database; Collective Agreement Database; Salary Checks and Calculations; Cost of Living Surveys and Living Wage calculations; DecentWorkChecks, DecentWorkSurvey, Factory Pages and related Data base and Living and Working in Coronavirus Times Survey and related Database. The WageIndicator Foundation is the owner of the concept; the copyright is the property of the Foundation.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy discloses the privacy practices for WageIndicator.org, including all national WageIndicator websites, as well as newsletters and other applications owned and operated by WageIndicator. Usage of WageIndicator services (e.g. Salary Surveys, Salary Checks, DecentWorkSurvey and/or newsletters) may require that the user leaves voluntarily certain personal information, including an email address or demographic information e.g. age, sex, income, job industry and job title. WageIindicator uses this information to help monitoring and improving the service offered to, and to sell advertising space on the websites. Advertising helps to keep the sites free of charge for our 40 million users per year in poor and richer countries.

 Personal information and privacy

Email addresses in Salary Survey, Salary Check, DecentWorkSurvey:

Untill May 1 – 2018. In the case we have email addresses volunteered by respondents they are stored separately from the data related to their working hours, salary or any other personal information they might have volunteered anonymously. Data and email address can only be united with a unique  key. WageIndicator used this policy until May 1 2018. If you claim your right to be forgotten, send us a message. After May 1, 2018 WageIndicator doesn’t collect email addresses from users in relation to the Salary Survey, Salary Check and DecentWorkCheck.

Email addresses HelpDesk and WageIndicator email addresses

The Helpdesk is password protected, the same counts for the WageIndicator email addresses. Email addresses are only used to answer message(s) from users. WageIndiciator will use certain personal information only for the purposes for which it was originally collected and will make sure it is deleted securely. WageIndicator will not share, sell, rent, swap or authorize any third party to use your email address or other personal data for commercial purposes without your permission. If you claim your right to be forgotten, send us a message.

.If any information is transferred out of the European Economic Area (EEA), it will be done with the relevant protection (stated under the General Data Protection Regulation) being in place.

 Email addresses and the WageIndicator Newsletter

The minimum information WageIndicator needs to register for its newsletters its name and email address. After the user have registered, and gave  permission, WageIndicator may send emails that may be of interest for the user. If the user no longer wish to receive a specific newsletter, the user needs to follow the "unsubscribe" instructions located near the bottom of each newsletter.

Cookies

The websites of WageIndicator use cookies. These are small files that are stored on the device of the user. These cookies allow WageIndicator to manage access to, and use of the WageIndicator websites, recognise the user and helps WageIndicator understand how its websites are used. You can disable cookies through the browser (see, for example, this information: Aboutcookies.org). WageIndicator may transmit non-personally identifiable website usage information to third parties in order to show users relevant advertisements. Advertising helps WageIndicator to keep the sites free of charge! Please note: not accepting cookies, means the Salary Survey, Salary Check and DecentWorkSurvey will not work!

Hyperlinks

WageIndicator websites contain hyperlinks to the websites of third parties. WageIndicator is not responsible for the content of those websites, nor is it responsible for the privacy policies and use of cookies by those websites.

 Analytics and User History

Like most websites, the WageIndicator websites gather information via third parties (e.g. Google, Bing) to provide information, reports and analyses about the usage and browsing patterns of visitors. These companies may independently record non-personal information about you, such as the type of device and operating system you are using, as well as general location information, and how you use WageIndicator websites. They may supply this information to third parties if legally required to do so, or if third parties process the information on behalf of these companies. WageIndicator has no influence on this. WageIndicator does not allow third parties to use the information obtained for other services.

 

Social Media

Social media buttons are included on the WageIndicator websites so you/user can promote or share pages via the networks of Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. By doing this, you/user ask them to send WageIndicator certain information from those social media accounts, and you/user authorizing WageIndicator to collect, store, and use what they send in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

 

Right to be forgotten

WageIndicator does not automatically collect personal data and takes privacy very seriously. Personal data constitute all information that can be used to directly or indirectly identify a person. It can be anything from a name, a photo, an email address, posts on a website or a computer IP address. When you voluntarily submit your email address, e.g. for the WageIndicator newsletter and/or when sending a question to the WageIndicator Foundation or the WageIndicator Helpdesk, your address can be erased. To help WageIndicator to erase your data, please specify your request by sending an email to  WageIndicator and make clear what information from you/user needs to be erased. WageIndicator shall honor your request within a reasonable time frame.
