According to this recent Wage Survey in Cambodia, one out of five
workers cannot cover their basic needs, and therefore, are considered
poor. Furthermore, 46 percent of them earn below the minimum wage .
These underpaid workers tend to have low education, work in elementary
occupations (such as unskilled work in the agriculture, construction and
restaurant sectors), and age between 20 to 40 years old. The level of
unionization amongst respondents is low.
